I have never learnt this new language before, but I am interested to pick it up.
That's great! Life-long learning is commendable; we provide tutors who can teach from basics. Most beginners often start off with conversational classes, with some reading/writing taught. We recommend that you take up a 3-month course (see our tips on learning a new language here) to reap the most out of your learning.
Will I be able to keep up with the lessons?
Yes — lessons are paced to match your current level. If something’s unclear, the lessons can be slowed down and topics revisited until you're confident.
Can I choose what topics we focus on?
As these languages classes are not usually bound by any curriculum requirements (unless you're gearing up for a certain language proficiency exam), the client and the tutor usually work together to formulate a lesson plan. It could be centered around work requirements (how to write an email, how to talk to colleagues, etc), or just casual conversation skills (day-to-day greetings, current affairs, chit-chat topics, etc).
I already have some foundation, but want to recap and then improve on top of it
Sure. The level can be adjusted based on your current standard. Some clients already have basic skills and want to improve further; intermediate classes are also available.
